GM Business Growth Hub, part of The Growth Company, helps businesses at all stages of their growth journey with a broad range of services delivered by its experts, as well as public and private sector partners. These services include one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes and funding.

The challenge

Social has been the retained PR agency for GM Business Growth Hub for several years and we began working with The Growth Company at the start of the Covid pandemic to help manage PR and communications around projects and support schemes launched to help the Greater Manchester business community.

The solution

We take a strategy first approach and support lead generation for The Growth Company and Growth Hub’s programmes and services, using strategic storytelling to tell its story to its multiple stakeholders through the businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs it supports in Greater Manchester and beyond.

We support the client’s internal teams by:

  • Identifying media opportunities and selling-in stories/comments/forward features
  • Writing press releases/quotes/thought leadership/case studies/awards/op-eds
  • Managing and responding to media enquiries
  • Providing crisis communications
  • Working with strategic partners on press releases and other content
  • Providing event media support
  • Engaging with stakeholders
  • Identifying speaker/roundtable/event opportunities
  • Providing verbal/written briefs for spokespeople.

We have also produced videos for various programmes and events, including Venturefest and a full event showreel and videos to showcase the International Students Programme, STEP Into Healthcare, MATMED, Made for Manufacturing, an ongoing series of case study videos and we produced an animation for the Creative Scale-Up programme.
